The reigning champions closed the gap to leaders Madrid to just one point after beating Almeria 4-1 on Sunday night, while they now hold a two-point lead over third-placed Atleti."The result from the Madrid derby was very good for us, but the most important thing is that we did our own job well," the Chile international was quoted as saying on the official Barca website.
"We secured three more points and now we’re just one behind Real Madrid. We have to try and get the top spot of the table back as soon as possible."
Alexis then briefly reflected on Barca's latest victory and felt they could have scored even more goals with a bit of luck.
"We had chances to score more goals, but AlmerÃa defended well."
